What can you do?
First, check out these photographs from Boston.com’s Big Picture to remind you of who needs our help and why.
According to the Big Picture, “10 days after the massive earthquake in Haiti, some 80,000 of the estimated 200,000 dead have been buried, two million residents now find themselves homeless, and hundreds of thousands of them are now trying to flee the capital city.”

Next, give money to help with rescue and relief efforts. Donating cash instead of materials saves rescue workers the time and money needed to deliver the goods to the right places. Giving money allows rescue services to buy and distribute supplies quickly and efficiently.
Where to donate funds:
- Text “HAITI” to 90999, your $10 donatation goes to the Red Cross (charged to your cell phone bill)
- Wyclef Jean’s Yéle Haiti
- American Red Cross
- Ben Stiller’s StillerStrong
- Oxfam International
