There is no one right way to job search. But most job seekers have the same priorities.
1) You want to spend your time and energy doing things that will give you inside information about your chosen career field and specific companies.
2) You also want to continually add to and nurture your professional community, and meet as many employers as possible.
Knowing what you want and connecting with people who can help you find it is the key to any successful job search.
You can accomplish both of these actions by attending job fairs, also known as career fairs.
The career fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, March 18 will have more than 50 employers recruiting employees with education or experience in accounting, communications, engineering, finance, government, health care, human resources, information management, information technology, management, marketing, operations and sales.
The event is free for job seekers and college students.
Denise thanks for this wonderful post. Career fair is really important but especially for those who due to long term job search has accepted an entire different job from their discipline. This would definitely put then back on the right track. Thanks for sharing.
