  1. As a single parent, I am faced with sending my daughter to college this upcoming Fall. I would be so very grateful if someone would afford me information relative to scholarship information that would allow my daughter to live on campus at U of M. My daughter does not have the greatest grades (ADD) diagnosis, but has worked hard, persevered and is now on her way to college. I want her to have this experience, but cannot financially afford it. Thanks in advance for any information you can afford me. God Bless!

    1. Arlinda,

First — CONGRATS on your daughter’s acceptance to college! It is a huge accomplishment and you both should be proud.

Start with the UofM financial aid office. Their staff will know about all of the grants and scholarships your family might qualify for. Also check with any social services that helped your daughter with ADD. They, too, will know about resources specifically for families in your situation.

Also, the CareerOneStop Scholarship Finder lets you search for awards by varying criteria: http://www.careeronestop.com/EducationTraining/Pay/Scholarships.aspx.

And if you are not already, be sure to check Fastweb often for scholarship opportunities: http://www.fastweb.com/.

      Keep looking up,
      Denise
